For some reason I have completely stopped posting on this blog. Since my last post I have made quite a few more cakes. Many things have changed in my life… And I just added the ability to link my posts to Facebook and Pinterest. Yay!

OK, so I said that I was going to start blogging more… Clearly that was not true. BUT, in my defense I got another job. I am working in the mornings as well as in the evenings, it is very tiring, so it is only lasting until the evening job finds my replacement. I did like both of the jobs okay, but working two proved to be a little too much and I like the hours and the fact that the morning job is with preschoolers. I LOVE preschoolers.
I am very, very excited because I have 3 upcoming cakes (it took my fingers 3 tries to type upcoming… they kept wanting to type Cupcake. HA!) Ok, back to cakes. This upcoming weekend is my husbands birthday party. His actual birthday is tomorrow, Happy Birthday Jason! Then the following weekend I am making a 2nd birthday cake for my best friends daughter, Emma. Then on the 17th I am making a joint birthday cake for my Aunt, my cousin and my cousin’s birthday… They are all milestone birthdays so they are having a huge celebration. I am very, very excited! It’s a BOY! August 27, 2009
I… am… STOKED! (wow, I haven’t used that word in a LONG time) OK, so not only do I get to make a cake this weekend (Yay!) but I get to make a baby shower cake… FOR A BOY! I have not done this yet… seriously. Girls are prominent right now. I love pinks, pastels and browns. But, it’s getting old. In my immediate family (my poor dad) I have two sisters, two nieces and one daughter. So, my dad has ALL girls. Three daughters and three granddaughters. Wow, that just reminded me that I had a dream last night that my middle sister had a baby… it was girl. Weird. OK! Back to cake stuff! I am very excited to get to make a cake that is blues, greens, yellows, and turtles. Pictures will be posted on Saturday after I deliver it.
The New job August 18, 2009
Well, my new “real” job doesn’t seem to be as bad as I imagined it in my head. I was just dissapointed that I had to start the week that my best friend, who lives across the country and I haven’t seen in over a year, is in town… Oh well, it’s only 4 hours a day. Still.
No cake jobs on the horizon as of now. I am sad. I miss the baking and getting all artsy fartsy, I love it.
In other news, I went to my High School reunion this weekend. I had much more fun than I’d imagined. I didn’t even want to go, but since my best friend flew across the country to go with me, I went. And I am glad I did! Turns out I wasn’t quite as big of a loser as I thought I was. It was a ton of fun. I really miss a lot of the people! Good thing most of them still live in Redding too! Ahh, the rambling…
Today is my 3 year old’s first day of preschool and I have 5 hours alone. Something I haven’t had since I was 9 months pregnant! Not sure what to do with myself. I guess we can expect more Tuesday and Thursday morning blogs 🙂
Cake-lull August 10, 2009
I’m in a cake-lull… No cakes. So sad. I love baking. Now I got a “real” job… Its so sad. I wish I could make cake decorating my real job. I am not too thrilled about the job I just accepted. Oh well, it’s better than sitting around on my bahookie.
Impatience! July 21, 2009
I am so impatient! I have two, maybe three cakes I am making this weekend and I wanna get started now! I am so excited. I guess that’s the negative of cake “art” you can’t start early or your “art” will get stale. It is funny though, I have nothing planned for this early in the week but by the end I have the two cakes, packing for our family’s annual trip to Donner lake and my first substitute teaching job!! I’m kinda hoping I’ll get called in tomorrow so I can get my 1st outta the way before the end of the week. OOOh, the anticipation!! I was called yesterday but the job was at the same time as an interview. 😦

Mother/Daughter cake July 17, 2009
I feel bad. I’ve been making quite a few cakes lately and with everyone my 3 year old daughter asks me if its for her. Well, today we had a little extra time so together we made her, her own little cake. The inside is hot pink and purple. She cut out a lot of the little flowers on the bottom border. She had a great time and can not wait until daddy gets home from work tonight so we can eat it.
as I am posting this she says “That is my cake!!”
