Mario Wedding Cake

Our best Friends got Married in Maui on April 1st, 2014. I had the honor of making their wedding cake. They are Mario fans through and through. They even scratched their first dance and replaced it with a First Mario Cart game… She won.

My little Super Reider is TWO! October 27, 2012

Today, my baby boy turns two. I can’t believe how fast the time goes.  My son, Reid, is obsessed with the alphabet, he knows the whole alphabet;  upper case,  lower case, and knows the sounds each letter makes. His favorite show is “Super Why!” Since we didn’t have a big birthday party for him this year, I decided to make him these little cakes of the characters  from “Super Why!”. All morning he’s been looking at them, touching  them, & naming them. I think he likes it!

While making the Halloween Frankenstein cake for my niece, my daughter’s school PTA called me asking if I could make a cake for her school carnival. I missed out on this opportunity last year  because we were leaving town to celebrate my son’s first birthday, so I was very happy to do it this year. My daughter, Leah didn’t want to make the same cake as we made for me niece so we decided on a Spider cake. I made it pink and purple for my her, since those are her favorite colors. According to the guy running the cake walk during the carnival, this was one of the first cakes to go!

While visiting my parents this past week, my sister mentioned to me that my niece’s class was having a cake contest on Friday. I was very excited and volunteered to help my niece make it. We looked at a few cakes online to get ideas and she found one just like this one and fell in love. Fortunately, it was a very easy cake to make; unfortunately, all my cake decorating supplies were at home over 3 hours away. So, my niece and I headed to the craft store to pick up a few supplies then back to grandma’s house to whip it out.  It was so much fun being creative with my niece and… She won the contest!

Keirsten’s 6th Birthday

Pink, Sparkly, Princess Cake. I have only missed out on making one birthday cake for Keirsten. I was so happy that I was in town this year and able to make her cake!

Jimmy and Krista’s Wedding

Jimmy and Krista’s wedding cake. Now that I live a LONG 3 and a half hours away from my family I had to go to my parents house about a week before the wedding and set up shop before tackling it. Many other cakes I have made  I have been able to make at home, but the whole 3.5 hour drive from my place to my parents is nasty, gnarly, twisty & turny.  I hate the drive, but it does help in making excuses to stay and visit my parents for long periods of time… Always a silver lining.
